In reply to speo’s post on February 15, I’ve tried everything recommended on this page and all others and no dice. Brand new HP laptop fresh out of the box. I’ll be taking it back as I’ve spend hours trying to get this to work.

For the record this driver and hardware both work in Windows 7 as I installed another HD with Windows 7 and no problems at all. No wonder I put off installing Windows 8!
